Arun Sali, 62, and Smita Sali, 58, submitted the eye donation form during a medical camp organised here by the Shiv Sena MP from Kalyan, Dr Shrikant Shinde, which ended today.
Arun Sali, who recently retired as a telephone operator from a Bank, said he and his wife wanted to do something for the society, so they decided to donate their eyes.
MP Shinde also pledged his eyes for donation during the two-day camp.
Doctors at the camp said that in certain types of blindness the eye can be donated even though the donor himself or herself is sightless.
