The Himachal Pradesh election department today said it had made adequate arrangements to facilitate voting by blind and 100 per cent disabled persons in the state.
No such person willing to vote would be deprived of his right, Chief Electoral Officer Narinder Chauhan said.
A blind person would be given a paper ballot with same serial numbers as on the EVM and after locating the position of any particular candidate, he or she would be able to cast vote in the Electronic Voting Machine, the CEO said.
The ballot paper would be in braille letters to make it easy for blind persons to read, he said.
There are 1148 registered blind voters and arrangements have been made in all the polling stations where they have been enrolled.
The 100 per cent disabled persons would be allowed helper for casting vote and all 498 voters could avail this facility, the CEO said.
