Blistering heatwave prevailed in Rajasthan' Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Kota divisions, officials said today.
Jaisalmer was the hottest place in the state with a high of 46.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Churu and Bikaner where the day temperature was 46.4 and 46.2 degrees Celsius respectively, according to MeT department here.
Kota, Barmer and Sriganganagar recorded maximum of 45.6, 45.4 and 45 degrees Celsius respectively whereas other districts registered day temperatures below 45 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorm with very light rain also occurred at isolated places in Jaipur, Bikaner, Kota and Ajmer divisions in the last 24 hours, while other areas remained dry.
The MeT department has forecast heatwave and dust storm at isolated places in the state during next 24 hours.
