Block-level camps to identify people with disability in HP

Himachal Pradesh government today announced special block-level camps to identify and bring maximum number of people with disability under the social security pension scheme before December 3, World Disability Day.
The state government's block-level camps comes close on the heels of it launching a similar campaign at district-level.
"People will be screened for disability at these block-level camps. The state government has set a goal to include maximum number of persons with disability under the scheme by December 3, World Disability Day," Secretary for Social Justice and Empowerment, Anuradha Thakur said here.
Eligible people will start getting their social security pension from January 1 next year, she said.
"A district-wise detailed programme has been chalked out for organising these camps at civil hospitals and community health centres under the supervision of specialist doctors," Thakur said.
Camps in blocks of Kangra district will be organised from November 3 to November 29 and in Bilaspur and Chamba districts from November 4 to November 29.

Besides, six camps each will be organised in Hamirpur district from November 3 to December 8, in Kullu district from November 16 to November 23 and in Sirmaur district from November 3 to November 29.
Five camps each would be organised in Solan district from November 16 to November 25, in Shimla district from November 16 to November 30, in Kinnaur district from November 12 to November 19, in Una district from November 9 to November 30 and in Mandi district from November 11 to November 28.
She exhorted people to avail this opportunity so that they could be examined and benefit under the social security pension, if found eligible.
