The character, which became hugely popular, is returning for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', releasing tomorrow.
Bloom told 'Yahoo Singapore' that it was great to get back to the role though he did need some practice.
"Yeah, we did a lot of brushing up on those (archery skills). It was great, it was a great way to get back into the character, to get back into firing a bow and arrow. The aches and pains I have ten years on from being twenty-two, not too bad, but it's very different to that svelte movement of an elf. It was definitely a little bit of work to get back in," the actor said.
The actor said he jumped at the opportunity to return to the Warner Bros produced and Peter Jackson directed franchise.
It was a wonderful moment to get Pete to say -- come and sit down, we want to talk about the possibility of Legolas in The Hobbit. I was very excited at the prospect of getting back into the costume and the world of Middle Earth, the world that Pete is so good at creating, he's really in his element. It's just great to be involved in that again.
