"A blue revolution will be launched to boost fish production just like it was done in the case of white revolution," Singh said while speaking at the seventh regional meeting of ICAR at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University premises here.
"More funds will be given to states for the construction of tanks for fish production," he said.
"India is the largest producer of milk in the world but we have to improve its quality. The Centre has decided to launch a mission to encourage native breed of cows which can adjust to the local environment better," Singh said.
Krishi Vignan Kendras would be opened in seven districts of Chhattisgarh namely Bemetara, Balod, Kondagaon, Sukma, Surajpur, Mungeli and Raipur, he said, adding that a Central Bird Research Centre would also be opened in the capital.
