Blueprint on garbage disposal, pollution soon: Jain

Delhi government's inter- ministerial task force will soon come up with a blueprint to deal with issue of garbage disposal and pollution in the city, Health Minister Satyendar Jain today said.
The city government had on October 22 constituted the three-member committee which will submit a report on solid waste management by November 10.
Headed by Jain, the committee has Environment Minister Imran Hussain and Water Minister Kapil Mishra as its members.
The panel met today and discussed ways to tackle the deteriorating air quality. It will again meet on Wednesday and submit its recommendations to the Supreme Court.
SAFAR recorded the day's AQI as 316 which falls in the red zone.
"The problem of garbage collection and disposal across the city, and ways and means of combating pollution would be discussed with all stakeholders, like MCD commissioners and soon a blueprint to deal with these issues would be prepared," he told reporters.

On the government's plan to bring in vacuum cleaners for cleaning dust in the city, Jain said, "The tender for it failed twice. We will soon issue a fresh tender."
"We will come out with a document and a policy to deal with these matters," he added.
On the issue of road maintenance for which advertisements has been issued by the government, Jain, who also holds the PWD portfolio said, "Roads built 5-10 years ago are being refurbished. This is separate from the regular repair and maintenance of roads.
