BMC: Web-casting of 22 sensitive booths, 2 EVMs for ward no-21

For the first time in Odisha, the State Election Commission (SEC) will keep a live watch on the 22 sensitive booths from its office during Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation election tomorrow.
"The web casting facility is being installed at critical places to deter people from indulging in nuisance in the polling booth. SEC can witness the polling procedure and other activities in the booths," an SEC official said.
Besides CCTV cameras, arrangements have been made to ensure a peceful polling in these booths, he said.
BMC election will take place tomorrow and the SEC has set up 660 booths across the state capital. Of the total booths, 376 booths have been declared hyper-sensitive and 187 booths sensitive. Each booth will have four polling officers in addition to police personnel.
In sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths, additional police force will be deployed, the official said. Every polling booth will have one electronic voting machine (EVM) while Ward 21 will have two EVMs as there are 19 candidates in the fray. An EVM can accommodate maximum of 16 names.
The polling will begin at 8 am and continue till 5 pm. While maximum of 19 candidates are in the fray in ward number 21, minimum of three candidates contest in ward number nine.
Voters can cast votes after producing any of the documents including voter identity card, passport, driving licence, PAN card, ration card, ex-servicemen's widow or dependent certificate, certificate of disability and others.
SEC has allowed 25 identification documents which can be used by the voters at polling booths.
