Boat made of 1,000 kgs spice major attraction

A 16-foot long boat made of different spices is the major attraction in the annual Spice Show, which began today at Gudalur, about 70 Kms from here, as part of the summer festival in the Nilgiris District, to attract tourists.
Standing seven feet tall and five and half feet wide, the boat was made with 1,000 kgs of various spices such as cardamom, clove, nutmeg and pepper, by the Horticulture department of Nilgiris district.
There are 16 stalls put up by various departments in the three-day show, which was inaugurated by the district collector, P Shankar, in the presence of senior officials of horticulture and other departments.
