After the role of real life ticket counter clerk at a heritage cinema hall, 'Bob Biswas' Saswata Chatterjee now becomes a reel-life 'Mosh' (buffalow) in an unprecedented role in Tollywood.
Talking about the 'Mosh' in Hercules, Swswata told PTI, "I myself was stunned and shocked when my favourite director duo Sudeshna Roy-Abhijit Guha came up with the subject. Stunned in the sense I was amazed. Never know if anything of this sort had been attempted in world cinema in past."
Saswata, who will not divulge the look of his character in Hercules produced by Greentouch Entertainments, nor the directors, laughed at.
"At best you can describe it as a 'mosh' with human characteristics, traits who has hilarious scenes with Harokoilas, the woobly, nondescript hero of this film.
"Mosh is stubborn and headstrong. I am not sure why the two directors settled for me, but needless to say I get to do more variegated roles on Bengali screens these days," Saswata, who had sold tickets to the public during a show of Bonkubabu sporting that balding look of a 70-year old veteran, said.
"No it was an on the spur decision. I strongly believe Bengali cinema is passing through one of its most creative phases backed by the audience. But yes there are other sides also. But my act was not indicative of any report about Tollywood's fate that day in a paper.
