Body of 55-year-old woman found in Meerut

Body of a 55-year-old woman was today found from her house at Subhashpuri Colony in Kankarkheda area in the district, police said.
Trilok Kaur, widow of one Yashpal Singh, was found dead this morning. The woman's milkman rang the doorbell at Kaur's house, which went unanswered and then he entered her room following which he found her body lying in a pool of blood, City SP Om Prakash said.
The milkman then raised an alarm. Kaur's son, Hardeep, and her daughter-in-law were on the upper floor and they rushed down upon hearing the milkman's screams, he said.
In a complaint filed to the police, Hardeep has registered a suspicion that his mother might have been murdered by someone who attempted to loot the house.

The police have, however, rejected this suspicion after primary investigation saying that cash and other valuables were kept intact in an almirah.
According to the SP, Kaur might have been murdered in cases related to money.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and police are investigating the case, he said.
