Body of a teenage girl recovered; father alleges rape

A teenage girl was today allegedly strangulated to death and her semi-nude body with injury marks was recovered from a nearby sugarcane field in Mitauli area here, police said.
The father of the victim in his complaint has alleged that her daughter was raped before she was strangulated and murdered, police said.
The girl had left home in the morning and when she did not return, a search team recovered her body in semi-nude condition from the nearby field, police said.
There were injury marks on her body, they said.
Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen Yadav and Additional SP Gyananjay Singh rushed to the village and inspected the spot.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death and to substantiate the rape allegations, police said.
Further action would be taken after the post-mortem examination report, they said.
