The body of a two-year-old girl, who was abductedby two masked men from her home at Edamogevillage in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district, was foundin the nearby Kubja river Friday, police said.
The child was abductedat around 4 am on Thursday whileshe was sleeping beside her mother.
The kidnapped child was the daughter of Santhosh Naika, a resident of theremote village.
The kidnappers entered the house through the side door, pickedup the child and ran away.
When the mother woke up hearing some noise, the abductors fled with the child.
The abductors escaped by swimming across the nearby river.

The police formed two teams to search for the missing child.
A case was registered and further investigations are on, the sources said.
