Body of abducted youth found; locals protest

Body of a 23-year-old abducted youth was found near Daurala area's Nangli gate here triggering protests by locals who blocked the Meerut-Haridwar marg, police said today.
The man, identified as Deepak and a native of Jagsoran village here, was allegedly kidnapped on Jul 23, following which his father had lodged an FIR on Jul 24 against former village head Mukesh, Rakesh and Sanjay, from the same village and one Ankit, from Dashrathpur village, they said.
With the recovery of Deepak's body yesterday evening, his family members and angry locals demonstrated in front of the accused persons' hotels till late last night and blocked the Meerut-Haridwar marg, police said adding they rushed to the spot and eased the traffic.

The deceased's family members have alleged police inaction following which the incharge of Sakauti police chowki Mahesh Rana has been line-attached (removed from field-duty).
Meanwhile, Deepak's father has threatened to commit suicide if the accused are not arrested within 24 hours, police said.
