The body of a two-year-old girl, who was feared drowned three days ago in Rongkai river in South West Garo Hills district was found today, a senior police officer said.
"The body of the girl was recovered today in Bangladesh and was handed over at a place call Mama-Bhagina, close to the international border. The parents identified the child and the victims body has been taken to the Tura Civil Hospital (TCH) for post mortem," Superintendent of Police, Bobby W Momin.
The girl had drowned river Rongkai at Magurmari village on July 3 when she had gone for a bath with her mother. The parents had field a missing report with the police on the same following which a search operation was launched.
