Body of Vaishnodevi pilgrim among six recovered in J-K

Body of 71-year-old Khami Chand of UP, a Vaishnodevi pilgrim, was recovered from the compound of Trikuta Bhawan in Katra, the base camp of the cave shrine in Reasi district yesterday, police said.

It is believed that Chand fell from the fifth floor of the complex where he was sleeping.

In another incident, the body of 17-year-old Kajal was recovered from the river Chenab in Reasi belt, where she along with her lover 25-year-old Hardev Singh, had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the river at Bara Dari area on Wednesday.

The body of 19-year-old Ashu was recovered from Batote belt of Ramban district last night, they said, adding that he was missing from Jammu for past two days.

Police also fished out a body of 30-year-old Tarun from a canal in Miran Sahib in R S Pura tehsil last night, they said adding that he was missing for past three days.

Body of Tahloo Gujjar, who went missing, was also found in Arnas belt of Reasi district, they said, adding another body of labourer Jugal Kishore was recovered from debris of an under-construction of building in Poni belt of Udhampur district.
