"There was a letter by a bogus NGO objecting to compulsory suryanamaskar in schools across Goa. I had to clarify that the compulsion was made by the Union government and state government was merely following directives," Parrikar said, adding, since it has been imposed by the Union government, the suryanamaskar became "secular".
"The chief minister said that upon inquiry it was revealed that the Non-Governmental Organisation's address was fake and it was traced to a government office.
He also clarified that his opinion is not about all NGOs in general.
"There are some good NGOs and there are some bad people who claim to be NGO," he said.
"Sometimes, the NGO helps us to identify what's going wrong," Parrikar added.
