Bolivian President Evo Morales's jet resumed its trip back to his country today after a brief technical stop on Spain's Canary Islands following a diversion to Vienna on suspicion of fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden being on board.
The plane was held up in Vienna for 13 hours and the diversion has sparked a diplomatic row, with Bolivia announcing protest rallies outside the embassies of European countries that denied Morales entry into their airspace, forcing his landing in Austria.
The jet stayed at the airport at Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria for about an hour before resuming its flight to Bolivia.
