Bomb hoax near Howrah station

An abandoned backpack was today found at a bus-stand beside the Howrah railway station causing a bomb scare but it later turned to out be a hoax, police said.
The backpack was noticed in front of a tea stall at the bus stand and the police informed the bomb squad.
Bomb squad personnel opened the bag and found a trowel and a hammer besides a small blanket and some medicines, police said.
A driving licence, belonging to a man from Karnataka, was also found in the bag.
Efforts are on to find the owner of the bag, police said adding, bus services from the stand were not affected due to the bomb scare.
