Scotland Yard officers evacuated Baker Street station after the vehicle was left in the middle of the road last night.
"There was an abandoned vehicle in Baker Street. There was a controlled explosion. This is not a criminal investigation," a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
A car was pictured abandoned near traffic lights with its doors and bonnet opened. Concerns were raised after the car was left with its hazard lights on in the middle of the road.
A police cordon and station closure raised security fears, coming just days after the terror attacks in Paris.
Scotland Yard is on high alert since the attacks claimed by the Islamic State group in the French capital on November 13 that killed 129 people.
