Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" and Raam Reddy's "Thithi" are the two Indian films selected to be screened at the upcoming Locarno International Film Festival.
The 10-day long festival, which runs from August 5 to 15, will open with Meryl Streep-starrer "Ricky And The Flash".
"Bombay Velvet", starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, will be screened in the Piazza Grande category which has titles like "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl," "Southpaw," Judd Apatow's "Trainwreck," and "Amnesia."
Kashyap's movie had a poor run at the box office in India when it released this May but the director said despite its failure, the period drama will remain his "absolute favourite".
"Bombay Velvet has been worth all the heart ache and pain and a memory to cherish for life. The Applause or Brickbats do not matter, what matters is who is standing in the arena. I WILL BE BACK," Kashyap had written on Facebook.
Kannada film "Thithi" by Raam Reddy is another India film to be screened in the Cineasts of the Present category at the festival. It is Reddy's debut film.
