A senior police officer said to stop bombing in Sirsita village where Mondal was slated to address a meeting, a force was sent and the situation brought under control.
Few teargas shells were burst but there was no report of any injury so far, the official said.
The area had been witnessing turf war between TMC and opposition BJP for past two months.
Villagers said since this morning, sounds of bombing were also heard from nearby Golapbag, Bansanka, Chomandalpur, which had witnessed the attack on a police party causing injury to three policemen.
Mondal in his speech blamed the BJP for the spiral of violence in Parui alleging that the saffron activists wanted to intimidate TMC supporters in the area.
