The five live bombs that were found on Amritsar-Pathankot railway tracks yesterday were made of unmarked RDX, Army sources said.
The bombs, which were found by an alert trackman Ashwani, were defused by the Army after a four-hour effort last night.
The sources said the bombs weighed little over one kg and and were packed very neatly and cleverly.
Samples have been sent to the National Investigation Agency, they said.
A train, which was to pass through the tracks, was stopped just 200 metres from the spot where the bombs were planted. Railway traffic on the Amritsar-Pathankot section was suspended following the incident.
The five live bombs were carefully wired to the railway tracks at a small bridge near Parmanand railway station, five km from Dinanagar, the scene of yesterday's terror attack, in which seven persons including a superintendent of police were killed.
