Those travelling by Delhi Metro might be in for a surprise - finding a book with a sticker saying, 'Take this book with you, Read it & Return it for someone else to enjoy.'
Little did Delhi-based couple Shruti Sharma and Tarun Chauhan know that their novel initiative 'Books on the Delhi Metro' would go viral.
Book lovers are now placing free books in the Metro stations premises and on board the metro for commuters to enjoy reading.
Publishers HarperCollins India also jumped into the bandwagon in a bid to spread the joy of reading.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in India this year, HarperCollins has provided three books as of now for the initiative - Anuja Chauhan's "Baaz", "A Game of Thrones" by George R R Martin and Trisha Bora's "What Kitty Did".
Shruti was inspired by Harry Potter star Emma Watson's 'Books on the Undergound' initiative.

'Books On The Delhi Metro' has a Facebook page and has also Twitter and Instagram presence.
"You just finished that amazing book you've been reading, and you want to share it with the world? Well that's what we wanted to do, so we created 'Books On The Delhi Metro'. We went out and we left some of our favourite books on the Delhi Metro. They're there to be taken, read, shared, and most importantly, enjoyed. We'd love you to join us and leave some of your books on the metro - after all, a good read cheers us all up," its Facebook page reads.
