Two bootleggers were detained by a group of women campaigning against illicit liquor trade at Ayatapur village in Kendrapara district, police said today.
The illicit liquor traders were targeted and detained by the women who destroyed their hooch consignment yesterday, they said.
The two were rescued and subsequently arrested by the police for indulging in illegal liquor trade, police said.
The women protesters said they were forced to take law unto their hands as the authorities had "failed" to redress our grievance.
