Bopanna, Mergea in semis of Shanghai Masters

Rohna Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea advanced to the semifinals of the ATP Shanghai Rolex Masters with a shock win over fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo, here today.
The unseeded Indo-Romanian pair recorded a 6-4 3-6 10-7 win over the Croat-Brazilian pair in the quarterfinals of the USD 6,521,695 hard court event.
This is Bopanna's best show at ATP Masters this season. He reached quarterfinals at the Canada and Monte Carlo events with Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi.
The will now fight it out with the might Bryan brothers -- Mike and Bob -- for a place in the final.
