An official release here said Thanhawla told Mangotra at the meeting, held at Lunglei in south Mizoram, that some Mizo villages were outside the border fencing due to which the residents were facing economic problems.
After the meeting, Mangotra visited Kawrpuichhuah, the proposed trade centre for the Indo-Bangladesh border trade in the Mizoram sector, it added.
The Boundary Committee, constituted by the state government, had recently said 21 villages in south Mizoram were outside the border fencing, while the fencing ran through 15 villages.
