"I have taken up the issue with the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and an official communication would be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he told reporters here.

Stating that Meghalaya has produced detailed documentation on its claims on disputed areas with Assam along the inter-state boundary, Sangma reiterated the need for formation of a boundary commission by the Centre to resolve the issue.

The Meghalaya assembly had adopted a unanimous resolution to this effect, he said.

Sangma also reviewed the situation at Langpih village, a disputed area between West Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya and Kamrup district in Assam, where tribal activists have gone on an indefinite fast demanding an early settlement to the boundary dispute.

He said Meghalaya was sending a high-level delegation led by state Home Minister H D R Lyngdoh to Langpih tomorrow.

He said he had informed his Assam counterpart Tarun Gogoi about the delegation's visit.
