The budget session had commenced on March 11 last with the Nitish Kumar government successfully mustering trust vote in the legislative Assembly by 140 votes in favour and none against.
The trust vote was followed by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi's customary address to the joint sitting of both Houses of the state legislature during which he outlined the JD(U) government's priorities and achievements.
In all, the state legislature had 27 sittings during which seven legislations, besides the state government's budget of Rs 1,20,685 crore for 2015-16, were approved by the two Houses by voice vote.
The budget session of the state legislature turned out to be stormy with the JD(U) and its allies the RJD, the Congress and the CPI locking horns with the BJP resulting in frequent adjournment of both Houses.
