Boxer held with contraband

A national boxer has been arrested from east Delhi with 7 grams of a banned psychotropic substance and is allegedly involved in an international drug trafficking racket.
DCP of East district, Ajay Kumar said that Rakesh Kumar Rakka (28), a national level boxer, was arrested near MTNL building in Anand Vihar, and 270 Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD Stamp Papers) were recovered from his possession.
The drug weighed 7 gm while its commercial weight is 0.1 gm as per NDPS Act, he said.
Rakka has network in Goa, Himachal Pradesh, south Delhi and Mumbai and was planning to supply drugs in Delhi where he was arrested on July 14.
According to police, the accused was involved in international racket of drug trafficking. He used to buy drugs from foreigners at low price and sold it at rave parties and other places in India and abroad where the demand of LSD drugs, popularly known by its market name "Dalai Lama", is very high.
This is the third ever seizure of LSD stamp papers by Delhi Police and Narcotics Control Bureau and one of the biggest recoveries in the country, he said. Rakka, a student of Rai Sports School, Sonipat, Haryana, revealed during interrogation that he exchanged some LSD paper stamps for Charas in Kasoli in Himachal Pradesh.
Initially he was a user of LSD drug and later he became peddler. He used to organise rave parties in different parts of the country. He was mainly involved in trafficking of drugs Mephdrone (meow-meow drugs), LSD Stamp Papers and Charas in south, west Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida.

He procured Mephdrone and LSD from Mumbai to sell it in Delhi on the cost of Rs 1,500-2,000 per gm. His customers also included foreign tourists, the officer said.
"After completing graduation in 2008, he worked as a sales manager and also indulged in online business trading," he said.
An FIR under section 22 of NDPS Act, has been registered with Anand Vihar police station on July 14 and the investigation is underway, added the officer.
