Boy suffering from 'severe anaemia' dies on way to hospital

A four-year-old boy, who was suffering from 'severe anaemia', died today while he was being taken to Thane District Civil hospital from Wada, officials said.
"Vedant Madhavi was brought to the (Wada Rural) hospital at 6 AM in a critical condition and was immediately refereed to the Thane civic hospital and en route the child died," Pradeep Jadhav, Medical Officer, Wada Rural Hospital told PTI.
The transfer note of the Wada hospital, which is in possession with PTI, said the child was suffering from "severe anaemia with severe breathlessness and loose motion".
Vivek Pandit, head of NGO Shramajivi Sanghanata claimed that the child was not recorded as malnourished by the government authorities and weighed 11 kgs.
