Boy sustains bullet injuries

A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after bullets fired at rabbits hit him during hunting in the forests near Viralimalai in Pudukottai district today, police said.
One person was arrested in this connection, they said.
The boy Tamilarasan had accompanied one Raju, who went for rabbit hunting as per the custom in Viralimalai after Shivaratri.
When Raju fired at the rabbits, Tamilarasan who was chasing the animals, came in between and was hit by the bullet and sustained serious injuries.
He was admitted to government hospital with serious injuries. Raju was arrested and his gun seized, police said.
