Boys makes flutter over admission

Five boys of a private school at Sivagiri in Tirunelveli district today caused a flutter when they attempted to set themselves ablaze to protest against the school management not giving them admission in eleventh standard.
Police said the said the boys, who had passed to tenth standard had gone to the school with their parents for getting admission in eleventh standard. They also held talks with the management of the school. But they refused to give them admission.
Later they held dharna in front of the school. As the school management did not pay heed to their request, they doused themselves with kerosene and threatened to commit self immolation. They later persuaded following police intervention.
The school management told the police that the five boys were indisciplined and they were not able to control them and hence they had denied them admission.Further talks were going on.
