'Brahmakalashotsava' held at Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt

The 'Brahmakalashotsava' ritual has been held at the 800-year-old Sri Krishna mutt at Udupias part of renovation of the platform (Pauli)around its sanctum sanctorum.
The mutt had not been renovated before as peravailable records.
Work has now been undertaken to commemoratethe 700th birth anniversary of 13th century thinker andpreacher and thinker Sri Madhwacharya,proponent of the'Dwaita' philosophy.
Sri Krishna Mutt, the hub for 'Dwaita' philosophy, has been renovated at the initiative of Sri Vishweshatirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt.
A number of rituals, including 'Brahmakalashasthapane,' rajatha kalasha, Krishnamantra homa and Vishnu Yaga were held yesterday as part of the 'Brahmakalashotsava' celebrations.
The main ritual 'Brahmakumbhabhisheka' to the idol of Lord Krishna was performed by seers of eight Mutts (ashta mutts) under the guidance of Vishwesha Tirtha Swami.

The other seers who took part in the ceremony were Vidyasagara Tirtha Swami of Krishnapur Mutt, Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar Mutt, Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Palimar Mutt, Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Pejawar Mutt, and Ishapriya Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Admar Mutt.
A large number of devotees thronged the mutt for the celebrations.
