A branch manager of Central Bank of India has been arrested for allegedly demanding sexual favours from the wife of a farmer for sanctioning crop loan.
Rajesh Krishnarao Hivase (50), who was absconding after a case was registered against him last week, by nabbed by the Buldhana police from Sakkardara in Nagpur yesterday, said Girish Bobade, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Buldhana.
Hivase was attending a wedding when he was arrested, Bobade said.
"We brought him to Buldhana and produced before the court which sent him in one-day police custody," the SP said.
"We have seized his cell phone and taken his voice sample which will be sent to the forensic lab," the police officer said.
Malkapur police in Buldhana district registered a case against Hivase and bank peon Manoj Chavan last week for allegedly demanding sexual favours from the wife of a farmer who had approached the bank for crop loan.

Hivase sought the woman's contact details for processing the loan, and later called her up and allegedly used obscene language and demanded sexual favours.
He also allegedly sent Chavan to the woman's home. The peon allegedly told the woman that Hivase will sanction the loan and give more concessions under a special package if the woman obliged him.
The woman, who had recorded the phone conversation, filed a complaint with the local police station, following which a case was registered. The peon was arrested the next day, while Hivase was on the run.
