This was conveyed by the Deputy Commissioners of the three Barak Valley districts -- Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi -- to a team from the state government which undertook a comprehensive inspection of the DCs' offices during last few days, an official statement said.
Commissioner (Hills and Barak Valley Division) M Ariz Ahammed along with his team inspected the offices of the DCs of Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts and the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Lakhipur.
"All the Deputy Commissioners assured that from now on, the Branch Officers will prepare an Annual Plan of Action for each branch, hold branch-level meetings and trainings fortnightly and undertake self-appraisal quarterly with a view to improving service delivery," the statement said.
Ahammed requested the DCs to update the pending works and incomplete items and submit the updated self inspection formats before December 30.
He also informed that inspection of the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao will be taken up in the next phase.
"The inspection was an annual exercise to consolidate team building with the DCs and SDOs as a performance management tool to ensure good governance and efficient public services delivery and was not a fault-finding exercise," Ahammed said.
The inspection team of each district comprising four members, and various branches including personnel, magistracy, arms & passport, hotels, cinematography act, certificates, food, civil supplies & consumer affairs, excise, and others were covered.
