The British comedian will be will be prosecuted in New Orleans, after he was allegedly caught on camera back in March rushing toward a car, then grabbing the phone of photographer who was snapping photos of him, reported TMZ.
The "Arthur" star then threw the phone, which shattered a window of a nearby law office.
Brand turned himself in to police on March 15 and later tweeted, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently... What I did was a tribute to his memory."
The New Orleans District Attorney's office "has finally decided to go forward and prosecute the actor... And will file one charge of misdemeanor criminal damage to property against Brand sometime today," law enforcement sources said.
