Brass edge up in sluggish trade

Brass prices edged up further in an otherwise sluggish non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained stockists buying amid good demand from industrial users.
Meanwhile, nickel, tin dropped further on weak alloy industries demand, select copper and zinc moved down owing poor offtake from consumer industries.
On the global front, industrial metals moved up in early trade at the LME, with focus on data expected to show struggling economic growth in China that could boost a drive for stimulus, bolstering metals prices.
Brass utenesils scrap and brass sheet cutting inched up further by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 328 and Rs 340 from Monday's closing level of Rs 327 and Rs 339.
However, Tin and Nickel dipped by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 1,480 and Rs 1,100 from overnight close of Rs 1,490 and Rs 1,110.
Copper sheet cutting declined by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 444 from Rs 447 yesterday.
Copper utensils scrap and zinc moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 425 and Rs 183 as compared to Rs 427 and Rs 185 yesterday.
Copper sheet cutting and copper armature softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 471 and Rs 448 respectively.
