Brass slips on sluggish trade

Brass and select copper prices slipped in an otherwise sluggish non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amid lower demand from industrial users.
Meanwhile, select copper, lead and gun metal scrap prices recovered due to fresh demand from consumer industries.
At the global, London copper lost more ground at early trade, falling for a fifth consecutive session to trade around its lowest in four-and-half years on concerns over slowing demand in top consumer China.
Brass utensils scrap, brass sheet cutting, copper utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 327, Rs 338, Rs 424 and Rs 442 from Rs 329, Rs 340, Rs 426 and Rs 444.
However, Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar lead and gunmetal scrap inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 469, Rs 461, Rs 497, Rs 132 and Rs 396, respectively.
