Braving drizzle and snowfall, scores of devotees today thronged Mata Anusuya's temple, about 13 km from here, for the Naudi Mela which was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal.
The fair, famous in the state, is organised every year in the premises of the ancient shrine, which is surrounded by lush green forests, on the birth anniversary of Hindu deity Dattatreya and is attended mostly by newly-wed couples.
Mandir Samiti's secretary Dilbar Singh Bisht said that despite a severe cold wave sweeping the region, over 200 newly married couples had so far reached the temple to attend the fair.
