Sales of bread had declined by about 10 per cent after the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in its report alleged that bread contains carcinogenic chemicals like potassium bromate and potassium iodate.
"The bread sales had come down by 10 per cent after CSE created panic in the market. But now it is recovering after the bread manufacturers voluntarily announced that they would not use potassium bromate as additive," Harvest Gold MD and AIBMA Executive Council Member Adil Hussain said at an event here.
He also ensured that bread players are committed to producing quality and safe product.
