The driver of the MUV could not notice the damaged portion of the Chatradhari road bridge and lost control, the sources said adding that three persons including a 21-year-old bridgegroom, Upendra Singh, who was the only son of Brahmadeo Singh, were killed on the spot.
The other victims were identified as Sahdeo Singh (45) and Nanku Bhuiyan (50).
The injured were shifted to the district hospital in Medininagar, where the condition of three was stated to be serious.
The victims were all going to Baghmara from Chatarpur for Gauna (a ritual to bring bride to her in-laws after marriage) when the incident occurred, sources said.
The road bridge over river Banki was badly damaged due to heavy rains on August 18 last.
