Built on the Akajan-Jonai-Pasighat road on the stretch of the National Highway-52, the bridge fulfills the double lane- specification and will usher in a new era of development to the civil population, army and the paramilitary forces, Defence Ministry officials said here today.
The bridge was inaugurated yesterday by Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju.
Dedicating the bridge to the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh, Raju said it will facilitate early completion of Broad Gauge Rail Conversion Project between Rangiya and Murkongselek in the state.
The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 24 crore.
Besides helping the troops in faster movement, the bridge will also facilitate several civic agencies working for infrastructure development of the region.
