"Jharkhand should prioritise five or six principal areas in the agriculture sector to bring about a significant change in agriculture (scenario)," he said, chairing a high-level official meeting here.
He said the state should use the expertise of institutes like Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
Kasturirangan stressed on the requirement of taking information like weather forecast and the latest agricultural technological information to the farmers.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary R S Sharma said the government was in the process of filling up vacancies in various departments to strengthen them.
