Government today asked CBI to bring complete documents related to initiation of disciplinary inquiries against their senior officials and cautioned it that incomplete dossiers would be returned to them.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which acts as nodal administrative authority for CBI, has come out with a check list for accepting proposals for initiation of disciplinary proceedings against Group 'A' officers of the investigating agency.
A single window system for receiving these proposals by CBI will come into effect from March 1 at DoPT's office in North Block here, an official order issued today said.
The decision has been taken by DoPT to avoid delay in processing of the proposals for disciplinary inquiries against CBI officials due to procedural infirmities, shortcomings or discrepancies, it said.
"Henceforth, CBI is required to come to DoPT's office in person for handing over the proposal for initiation of disciplinary proceedings, complete in all respects, with all the relevant documents or records through an authorized representative after obtaining the first stage advice of CVC wherever required as per prescribed norms," the missive issued by DoPT said.
