Brisk polling was today witnessed in Lakshadweep Lok Sabha seat with 26.19% voters exercising their franchise till 11 AM.
Polling officials said there was heavy turnout of voters in all the 44 booths with long queues.
The total electorate in the constituency is 49,821 in the 10 inhabited islands which form part of the Lok Sabha seat.
Six contestants are in fray in the elections which is seeing a fierce contest between sitting MP Hamdullah Sayeed of Congress and P P Mohammed Faisal of NCP. CPI(M), BJP and Samajwadi Party have also put up candidates in the constitutency.
