Known for his love for Queen Elizabeth and the royal family, the owner of Mumbai's famous Britannia restaurant, the 'Britannia Uncle', as he is popularly called, had been excited about the royal visit to the city.
His dream was to serve them his famous 'berry pulav'.
The dream was partially fulfilled as he finally met the British Royal family here last evening.
Kohinoor was invited by Prince William and Kate Middleton who are visiting Mumbai for an out-of-schedule meeting at The Taj Mahal Palace hotel.
"They asked me if I could cook. I said no, but I serve my customers well. I told them: give my love to the Queen, and to your children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The meeting happened after a video clip, in which Kohinoor calls himself "the Royal family's fan number 1", went viral and caught the attention of British Deputy High Commission, an official said.
