British embassy spokesperson Gunel Ahmedova told The Associated Press by telephone that the individual, who has not been named, had been employed by a company working on the ceremonies at the Games.
Two more British nationals were hospitalized and were receiving consular assistance, Ahmedova said today.
European Games chief operating officer Simon Clegg confirmed that organizers were "aware of a road traffic accident" which happened yesterday, but would not comment further, saying "details of the incident are still being determined."
