According to official sources, Bevan, who reached Lucknow in the morning, visited several polling centres. He later visited the Election Commission office and paid courtesy visit to Uttar Pradesh Governor B L Joshi.
The British High Commissioner also met BJP national president and candidate from Lucknow, Rajnath Singh, BSP supremo Mayawati and Congress nominee, Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
According to a report, Bevan also visited the Parliamentary constituency of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rae Bareli where he went to a polling centre at Kendriya Vidyalaya at Gora Bazar and took information about the polling process from the staff.
According to District Magistrate, Amethi, Jagatraj Tiwari, arrangements have been made for the British High Commissioner at BHEL guest house there.
