The event would include observance of a two minute silence and playing of Indian and British national anthems, an official release said.
British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai Bharat Joshi would also make his comments during the gathering, it said.
Consul Generals of various diplomatic missions located in Chennai, guests from business, civil society and academia, officers from the Armed Forces are also to be present during the event.
